Bringing back the Fort


Built in 1933, Lakeside Hall served as the officers club for Historic Fort Ritchie. With a large deck overlooking Lake Royer, a floor to ceiling stone fireplace, and high ceilings with rustic beams, it makes a perfect event space for any special occasion.

95 years after Camp Ritchie started its training in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Maryland, 80 years after the arrival of the Ritchie Boys, and 24 years after the closure of Fort Ritchie, a museum dedicated to the these veterans is opening to honor their legacy.



Opened in Summer of 2020, Mountain Top Ice Cream Shop offers great deals on sundaes, shakes, and novelty creations using delicious Hershey's Ice Cream.

We're tremendously excited to welcome Meritus Health to the Fort Ritchie Family! Meritus will be opening a primary care practice on base at 14303 Lake Royer Drive, which is directly across from Lake Wastler later this year. More details will be provided as they get closer to opening.




Entering into the former Fort Ritchie PX, JRJ will be bringing jobs back to the mountain through their HVAC manufacturing.


Harshman Automotive brings a strong manufacturing presence to Fort Ritchie. Their work creating automotive parts from aluminum are top quality and they continue to expand their reach in selling parts on a national and international scale.
